Music For The Suffering Soul

We are currently in a series at Clear Creek Community Church called Tough Stuff.  Our teaching pastors, Bruce Wesley and Yancey Arrington are helping us understand why God allows suffering and the power of suffering in our lives.  Suffering is going to come to all of us.  Things happen in life that you don't expect. Events transpire that you were not planning on. Catastrophe comes knocking on your door and you suddenly find yourself looking around in shock wondering how in the world you are going to cope and deal with the circumstance you now find yourself in.

We begin to ask the "why me" questions.  We wonder why God could allow this to come into our lives.  So what now?  How do we recover and bring relief to our souls? How do we keep a biblical view while we walk through this valley of suffering?  How do we continue to worship God?

I would like to recommend an album of songs to you that will help you gain and keep a biblical, gospel-centered perspective as you navigate these rough waters.  COME WEARY SAINTS is a collection of songs for suffering saints.  Produced by Sovereign Grace Music - this has become one of my favorite worship albums of all time.  So much of contemporary worship music focuses on how good God is and how great life is worshiping Him along with the joy and gratitude we have for the awesome gift of grace.  But there's not a lot of music that helps people address their hurting and suffering in light of the gospel and that amazing grace...until now!

This collection of songs will help you keep suffering from becoming a barrier to God and will instead use it to help build a bridge to Him.  It is so easy when you feel the lick of the flames to run away from God instead of to God. We all need to be reminded that He has ordained EVERYDAY! And that no matter WHAT happens He is STILL worthy to be worshiped.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you pick up this album and add it into your mp3 rotation. You may not connect with it right now, but I guarantee you that you know someone who does need it, AND i guarantee that you will need it one day - and I know that God will use it to reveal His grace to You as He has used it in my life and the lives of others around me.

"thank You for the trials, for the fire, for the pain; thank You for the strength knowing You have ordained everyday!" (EVERYDAY - COME WEARY SAINTS)
